Clinical Psychology Scotland provides a range of assessment and treatment packages for people experiencing psychological difficulties. Our therapists have a wide range of experience and provide therapy for all ranges from adolescents through to older adults. We also provide assessment and treatment for adults with learning disabilities.

A significant proportion of our private treatment and assessment work has been related to clients going through the litigation process following accidents. This has included a wide range of traumatic events, including accidents at work, motor vehicle accidents, accidents involving pedestrians and also traumas leading to claims for criminal injury compensation.

We also cover a wide range of non-litigation difficulties, and provide treatment for anxiety and phobias, generalised anxiety disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, adjustment disorders as a consequence of changes in circumstances, post traumatic stress disorder, childhood traumas, grief and complicated grief and depression. This list is not exhaustive and we will use a formulation approach to tailor a treatment to individual emotional and behavioural difficulties.

We believe that people should be treated as quickly as possible and therefore aim to see people within two weeks of the referral. We also believe in using evidence-based treatments and specialise in the use of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing therapy (EMDR). These treatments are used internationally and have decades of research to support their effectiveness. Treatment follows an assessment and an agreement of shared goals to be worked upon.
